Those Cozy Fall Days

Rain pelting down....... the grey day marking contrasts between trees still

in their brilliant finery and those that have yet to get dressed for the occasion.

Mirroring reflections of orange, red and yellow ......

A grey day creating the perfect ambiance for ghostly apparitions.....

or perhaps a walk past a cemetery.

A rainy day perfect to get cozy inside reading a book without interruptions or

perhaps baking cookies.  Can't you just smell the aroma of cinnamon and

sugar wafting throughout the house?

Or maybe it's one of those days where going to the movies would be perfect!

That's what I did!  And with one of my "sister/friend's"! Hunkered down

in the movie theatre seat with buttered popcorn in hand, we spent a cozy

Sunday afternoon doing something we've done for years.  Well.... minus

the coke and candy bar.  After all, at our age we need to watch our

"girlish" figures!!  How about you?  How did you spend the day?

    1. After the movie, we spent time driving up and down the streets just relishing the homey feeling. And you're right... that home just screamed "I'm home!".

  2. Great post Kadee and I LOVE the photos! Looks like you had a very enjoyable day!
I spent the day with an artist who came from Finland and is staying with another Finnish friend who brought her over to my home to see my studio and work. We settled in the kitchen and had a nice visit over tea and some freshly baked oatmeal cookies - it was a wonderful afternoon!

    1. I bet this woman so thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the bits and baubles you have collected on your journeys. And then to see how you take them and create such lovely jewelry.... well, she must have felt so lucky to have had such a fabulous way to spend an afternoon!

  4. Kadee, you had such a nice day yesterday. I crafted yesterday with soldering for some xmas ornaments and cleaned up the craft cottage. It was WAY out of control! Have you been working on anything this week?

    1. Gosh darn.... when will I ever get around to getting the soldering iron out? Now wonder you are so good at it as you always seem to be creating some wonderful treasure with yours! Ha, ha..... and as I was staring at my mess of a studio, I kept thinking how beautiful yours is! Good to know yours gets a bit out of control, too. And what have I been working on? Entertaining my friend who is visiting from AZ and then on Wednesday I am driving to Cleveland as Cole has the last operation on his knee. i sure hope this works!!

  5. Your images are so cozy. And the thought of hunkering down in a dark movie theater, well that just sounds dreamy. Way back in the day (before marriage and kids,) I used to go to the movies alone on the weekends. I loved it. I think I might need to sneak out and start doing this again!

    1. Do you remember the very first time you went to the movies alone? I do! I just had graduated from college and went to the evening show. I was still living in our college town so the chances of running into someone I knew on a date was pretty good. Sure enough, I did and did I feel like the loser! Now remember.... that was waaaay back when and thank heavens that doesn't even enter my mind if I will run into someone or not as I got older! Too funny, right??!

  10. In Tennessee!!! Just did a post.... hope you'll stop by & visit. Miss you & hate it that you won't be a Winter Wonderland as if won't seem right without YOU!!!! Today is Diana's BDay. Would be fun if we were out there to take her to lunch. WE really need to plan our calendars so we can be together in 2013! Are you doing her Petite Retreat in June? I will I think. Hate it that we might have to wait THAT LONG! HUGS!
